October 20, 2026: Alberta Invites 386 Express Entry Candidates at Score 60
On October 20, 2026, Alberta invited 386 candidates through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, Priority Sectors (General). The lowest Worker Expression of Interest score in that round was 60. Both figures are in Table 10 of Alberta's AAIP processing information page. The page states Last updated: October 21, 2026.
The score of 60 is on Alberta's Worker EOI grid. The how to apply page caps that grid at 100. The stream eligibility page still requires a federal Comprehensive Ranking System score of at least 300 when the file is submitted and assessed.
What the October 21 tables say
The same update gives the 2026 inventory for the whole program and for the priority-sector row inside the Alberta Express Entry Stream.
| Figure | Whole program | Priority-sector row |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 nomination allocation | 6,603 | 619 |
| Nominations issued | 5,831 | 651 |
| Spaces remaining | 772 | Less than 10 |
| Applications still to be processed | 856 | 213 |
The priority-sector row says Alberta is currently assessing applications received on or before July 6, 2026. The page says allocations may be exceeded under a small Express Entry administrative overage, and that AAIP may move spaces between streams.
Table 9 lists 4,566 expressions of interest in the priority-sector pool, inside a worker pool of 33,291.
How October 20 compares with September 29
The previous Priority Sectors (General) line is September 29, 2026: minimum score 64, 200 invitations. October 20 lists 60 and 386.
| Draw date | Selection | Minimum score | Invitations |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 20, 2026 | Priority Sectors (General) | 60 | 386 |
| September 29, 2026 | Priority Sectors (General) | 64 | 200 |
Draws follow sector needs and are not on a fixed schedule. The processing page says the EOI score is one factor among several, and that AAIP does not publish the parameters of a recent draw.
The draw date and your deadline are different
October 20 is the date in the table. The how-to-apply clocks run from your invitation email.
- You have 15 days to accept. Open the link and save a draft application before that period ends.
- If you do not choose Create Application within 15 days, the Worker EOI returns to the pool as Submitted.
- A decline before day 15 also returns the Worker EOI to the pool.
- After you create the application, you have 30 days to finish it, submit it, and pay.
The worker-stream application fee is $1,500, non-refundable once submitted. Pay online within 24 hours, on one card. An unpaid fee cancels the file, and a cancelled file cannot be reinstated. The Worker EOI fee is $135 since April 7, 2026, valid for 12 months, and due within 24 hours of submitting the EOI. If the pathway rules or the checklist cannot be met, stop before you file. A refusal leaves both fees with the program.
What the pathway page requires
For priority-sector invitations, the eligibility page says that at submission and at assessment the primary occupation on the Express Entry profile must be an eligible construction, agriculture, or aviation occupation. If the invitation was based on an Alberta job offer, the job-offer occupation must meet the same limit.
The processing page describes that allocation row more broadly: construction, manufacturing, agriculture, aviation, and skilled trades linked to those sectors. The October 20 line does not list occupations. Read the invitation email beside the live eligibility page, and be ready to show any extra selection factors for that draw.
You also need an active Express Entry profile under the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, or the Federal Skilled Trades Program, a stated plan to live and work in Alberta, and a CRS score of at least 300. A profile that expires in five months or less makes an invitation less likely.
What a nomination does later
An invitation lets you file with Alberta. A nomination follows only if Alberta approves the application. IRCC's confirmation steps, modified March 24, 2026, give you 30 calendar days to accept or reject the nomination in the Express Entry profile. Accepting adds 600 additional points. If the profile already has 600 additional points, the nomination does not add another 600. Those points can be received once.
Alberta's after you are nominated page says Express Entry stream nominees cannot extend the nomination. After a later federal invitation to apply for permanent residence, that page gives 60 days to submit the permanent residence application. That federal window is separate from October 20 and from the 15-day and 30-day Alberta clocks.
What to do with a score of 60
If the email arrived, record its date, count 15 days for the draft, and count 30 days from the day you create the application. Match the Express Entry occupation to the pathway before you pay $1,500. The October 21 row already shows fewer than 10 nomination spaces in that pathway, 213 applications still to be processed, and an assessment marker of July 6, 2026.
If no email arrived, use 60 as the lowest score invited on October 20. The September 29 general round used 64. This page does not give the next draw date.
