Express Entry PNP Draw August 4, 2026: 507 Invitations at CRS 768 – What It Means

On August 4, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held the first Express Entry round of the month. It was a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) specific draw that issued 507 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was 768.

Why the Cutoff Is High

As of August 3, 2026, the Express Entry pool contained roughly 229,100 candidates. Only about 500 candidates sat in the 601–1200 range. Almost all of those high scores come from the 600-point nomination boost. Candidates without a nomination rarely reach 768 through human capital factors alone.

Recent PNP-specific draws in 2026 have shown similar patterns: July 20 (511 ITAs at 744), July 6 (534 at 708), and earlier rounds with cutoffs often above 700. The August 4 draw continues IRCC’s regular cadence of inviting nominees who have already been selected by a province.

What This Means If You Have a Nomination

If you received a provincial nomination and your Express Entry profile is active:

1. Confirm your profile still shows the nomination and that all documents (language, education, work experience) remain valid.
2. Check whether your CRS is at or above 768 and whether your profile creation date meets the tie-breaking rule.
3. If you received an ITA, you have 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application.

If your nomination is recent and your score is below 768, stay in the pool. Future PNP rounds may have different cutoffs depending on the volume of new nominations entering the system.

What This Means If You Do Not Have a Nomination

This draw does not change cutoffs for Canadian Experience Class, French-language, or other category-based rounds. Those continue to operate on separate instructions. A provincial nomination remains one of the most reliable ways to receive an invitation because of the 600-point boost.

Ontario’s redesigned Workforce Priority Stream (EOI portal opened August 4) and other PNP pathways are currently the main routes for new nominations.
