October 28, 2026: Express Entry Transport Draw Invites 150 at CRS 477

On October 28, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held Express Entry round #453, a Transport Occupations category round. The official rounds dataset that feeds the ministerial instructions table, retrieved on October 29, 2026, records the round at October 28, 2026 at 10:34:14 UTC. IRCC issued 150 invitations to apply for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was 477. The tie-breaking rule is June 4, 2026 at 21:48:22 UTC.

Confirm the figures on the instruction for round #453. The public rounds of invitations page shell was last modified October 14, 2026 and last published October 16, 2026. The invitation numbers live in the rounds dataset, not in that shell date.

Round #434 on August 7, 2026 issued 300 invitations at CRS 470. Round #453 invited half as many people, and the cutoff was 7 points higher. The August round is in our first Transport Occupations draw.

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, IRCC sets the cut-off by the date and time the Express Entry profile was submitted. At a CRS of exactly 477, the profile had to be submitted before June 4, 2026 at 21:48:22 UTC. A later profile at 477 was not invited.

Round date, profile date, and filing deadline

These dates do different jobs.

  1. Round date. Invitations went out on October 28, 2026 at 10:34:14 UTC.
  2. Profile date. The tie-break uses when the Express Entry profile was submitted. It is not the day the transport job started, and it is not the day the permanent residence application is filed.
  3. Filing deadline. IRCC's category-based selection page says that if you receive an invitation to apply, you have 60 days to submit an application for a specific program in Express Entry. That clock is the one on the invitation. It does not move to November 3.

On November 3, 2026, the CRS criteria page says the system will recalculate existing profiles, which could take up to two weeks, and invitation rounds will pause during that time. The pause is about later rounds. The page does not say the pause extends the 60-day filing window for an invitation already issued. Use the deadline in your IRCC account.

Who this round could reach

Only candidates in the Transport occupations category were eligible, and only inside the three programs named above. The category page requires, within the past 3 years, at least 12 months of full-time work experience, or an equal amount of part-time work, in a single listed occupation. It does not need to be continuous, and it can be in Canada or abroad.

The occupations on that page are:

Occupation2021 NOCTEER
Aircraft mechanics and aircraft inspectors724042
Air pilots, flight engineers and flying instructors726002
Aircraft instrument, electrical and avionics mechanics, technicians and inspectors223132
Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics, and mechanical repairers724102

A transport job that is not on this list was not part of the category rule published on that page. Four occupations. That is the whole list.

The same dataset shows Canadian Experience Class round #449 on October 15, 2026 invited 2,500 candidates at CRS 519, and Provincial Nominee Program round #451 on October 26 invited 792 at CRS 761. A transport cutoff of 477 is lower than both, and it applies only to the four occupations above.

The pool snapshot dated October 25, 2026 shows 228,724 candidates. In the 471 to 480 band, IRCC counted 16,330. That band is the whole pool, not the number of people with the listed transport experience.

What to do next

If you received an invitation, start the 60-day file now. Police certificates and proof of funds take time. IRCC still checks program eligibility, whether the profile was accurate, category eligibility, and admissibility.

If you were not invited, two checks matter. The experience has to be in one of the four occupations, for at least 12 months in the past 3 years. At a score of exactly 477, the profile had to be submitted before June 4, 2026 at 21:48:22 UTC. A score under 477 was not invited.

The November 3 points change may move the next cutoff. It does not rewrite round #453. Read the deadline in your account, not a later program date.
