October 29, 2026: Newfoundland and Labrador Issues 85 Invitations, Including 10 AIP

On October 29, 2026, Newfoundland and Labrador's Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism issued 85 Invitations to Apply. The live Invitations to Apply updates page, opened on November 1, 2026, lists that batch as NLPNP: 75 and AIP: 10. The page states Updated: Oct. 29, 2026. It does not publish a score, an occupation list, or a category name for the batch.

An invitation lets you file a full provincial application. A nomination, an Atlantic Immigration Program endorsement, and permanent residence are later decisions. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada still decides the federal file.

What the October table shows

The same page lists four October 2026 batches.

Date issuedITAsNotes on the page
October 9, 2026131NLPNP: 130, AIP: 1
October 16, 2026126NLPNP: 125, AIP: 1
October 23, 2026120NLPNP: 120
October 29, 202685NLPNP: 75, AIP: 10

The October 23 row names only the NLPNP. The October 29 row is the first October batch with 10 invitations on the Atlantic Immigration Program line. The three earlier October rows show AIP counts of 1, 1, and none.

Adding every 2026 row on that table, from March 6 through October 29, gives 3,157 invitations in 20 batches: 2,750 NLPNP and 407 AIP. The province does not print a year-to-date line. October accounts for 462: 450 NLPNP and 12 AIP.

The batch date and the 30-day filing clock

October 29, 2026 is the date on the public table. The filing clock is the date on your invitation.

The Expression of Interest model page, updated September 25, 2026, says that near the end of the calendar year the submission period has been temporarily reduced to 30 days. Upon receiving an invitation, you have 30 days to submit a complete application under the NLPNP or the AIP. The page asks applicants to file as soon as possible after the invitation.

The NLPNP Skilled Worker page, also updated September 25, 2026, repeats the window in a footnote: the submission period has been temporarily reduced from 60 days to 30 days to support intake in the current year. Use that footnote when the invitation is Skilled Worker. For an AIP invitation, use the 30 days on the Expression of Interest page.

Count from the date on your invitation. If that date differs from October 29, follow the invitation.

An expression of interest that is not selected stays in the pool until it is selected or it expires. The Expression of Interest page says an expression of interest expires after 12 months. That period is separate from the 30-day filing deadline.

If the invitation is NLPNP Skilled Worker

The October 29 notes do not say the 75 NLPNP invitations were Skilled Worker invitations. Read the category on your notice. The rules below are on the Skilled Worker page, updated September 25, 2026.

  • The job or job offer is full-time, at least 30 hours a week, for at least one year, with a reasonable expectation of extension. Pay is a salary or an hourly wage, not commission, and it must meet provincial employment standards and the regional prevailing wage.
  • The worker is 21 to 59 years old and intends to settle permanently in Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • A valid English or French language test is required for TEER 4 and 5 occupations.
  • A person in this category cannot hold a Post-Graduation Work Permit.
  • If the person is in Canada, the permit must have at least four months remaining when the NLPNP application is filed.
  • A spouse or common-law partner, and dependent children, can be included.
  • An ownership stake in the employer cannot exceed 10 percent.

The same page lists people who are not eligible: a criminal record, an unresolved custody or child support dispute, misrepresentation, or an in-Canada refugee claim. Documents that are not in English or French need translations.

What to do if you were invited

File a complete application inside the 30 days on your invitation. The Skilled Worker steps run through the Immigration Accelerator portal, from the expression of interest to a decision.

If you were not invited on October 29, the table does not publish a score to aim at. A valid expression of interest can be considered in a later batch. One that has passed 12 months has to be submitted again.

A provincial approval is still not permanent residence. After a nomination or an AIP endorsement, IRCC assesses the federal application, including admissibility. If a work permit will expire while that file is open, plan the extension on its own timeline. The four-month remaining-status line is a Skilled Worker filing rule, not an IRCC processing time.
